Photo A Day July 1-7, 2013

What a fun filled week we had!  I would say that we are certainly living it up this summer, but also taking the time to relax and enjoy the downtime that a more free schedule provides.

Enjoy!

We signed Taelin up for a mini soccer camp this month.
Each Tuesday from 6-7, the coach gives them different games
to play with a parent to practice skills.
It was super cute and Taelin had a great time.

This little guy was staring at while I was blogging and I actually yelped a little.
In case you don't know, it is a figurine of Dora the Explorer's dad.

A to Z: Summer 2012 (and I figured out how to do a Shutterfly book!)

I have been working on a little project all summer long as a way to chronicle all of our wonderful adventures.  I didn't go anywhere without some kind of camera, my goal being to make an alphabet book for Taelin (since she is getting to that age where that will be useful) and be able to check off  #95 on my list which is was an A-Z theme photography challenge.

In addition to finally sorting through and organizing all of the photos from the summer, I ended up using Shutterfly to make the book.  I have been playing with the idea of doing more of my scrapbooking in a digital way, not that I don't still love all of my paper, ribbon and other beautiful supplies, but right now it just makes sense because of time and space.  I won't get rid of my scrapbooking things, they will just be saved for other smaller projects (like December Daily albums), card making, and gift tags.

I am really happy with how the A to Z photo challenge turned out and am SO excited to get the printed book to give to Taelin.  Below you can take a look at how it turned out!

Photo-A-Day Aug 10-23

Oh boy...two weeks since I have posted my photo-a-day pictures.  It is no coincidence that I have been back to work for two weeks.  It has been a great start to the school year for me.  Exciting and excited new teachers have made it easier to be back to work.  Unfortunately, my photo-a-day pictures are a little lacking in some cases.  I will admit to taking a pictures just hours before midnight and right before going to bed.

Photo-A-Day June 29-July 5, 2012

I must have been feeling a little guilty about all of my Taelin photos last week, because aren't any of her this week.  This week's photos have a pretty good mix of what was going on in our lives as well as capturing some of the favorite parts of my home...one of my bookshelves and the laundry room doors that act as Taelin's art gallery.

Had a wonderful trip...but glad to be back in Oregon.
Only had a few more hours on the road at this point.

Rollin' on the River!

Joe and I have had kayaks for some time and a couple of Christmas' ago, we got a tandem kayak so that all three of us could go kayaking.  We had done quite a few lake trips with and without Taelin, but I have yet to be brave enough to kayak a river...until today!

We had tentative plans to go kayaking today as long as the weather was going to cooperate.  We organized pretty quickly with some friends that came along and used our single kayaks and had the best day!  The weather could not have been more perfect; it was sunny but there was a light breeze that made it not super hot.  We pulled over and had a picnic and then Joe and Taelin did a little swimming.  We were out for about 3 hours and then came back, got cleaned up and BBQ'ed.

Here are a few pictures of our adventure!

Put in spot...I was a little nervous

Paddle...paddle...

...paddle!
Joe was a sport as he got smacked with
the paddle as she tried for the first time.

It may have been our first river trip, but it certainly won't be our last!
